Shaka Black & Tony Haze
April 03, 2006 - Shaka Black and Tony Haze were born and raised in Puerto Rico. They are getting attention from Reggaeton fans all around the world with the anticipation of their first album “No Hay Mas Na Que Hablar”. “No Hay Mas Na Que Hablar” is due to be released April 18, 2006. Until then Reggaeton fans simply want to know who Shaka Black and Tony Haze are.
“We met here is the place where Reggaeton began, Carolina,” Stated Tony Haze in a recent interview with ******************. “We grew up together and as years went on we began to perform together. We each were doing our own thing and were performing at the same places, so we just decided to sing together.” Shaka Black and Tony Haze started their journey into the world of Reggaeton 12 years ago. They chose Reggaeton because Reggaeton is from Puerto Rico and it’s the music that represents them best. Before it was called Reggaeton it was known as underground music in Puerto Rico. Now that the lyrics have changed more people want to listen to it. “We like other music like Hip-hop Dancehall and Bachata but of course our favorite is Reggaeton, with a smile.”
Shaka Black and Tony Haze have been included in a few compilation CD’s including “El Draft 2005” produced by “Chosen Few’s” Boy Wonder and Chencho From the duo Plan B . It may take years for many aspiring artists to make it in the music industry, However Shaka and Tony have waited patiently and worked hard, and now can reap the benefits of their labor. “Our First performance was last year in the Puerto Rican Parade in Chicago, Tony recalls. Now we are performing all across the United States, and around the world. We have more experience than last year and better lyrics. We feel that with more experience and better lyrics we can be better artists.”
Reggaeton runs thick trough the veins of Tony Haze, and His cousin is Julio Voltio. “One day Voltio told me “Hey your gonna sing with me, and I was like ok. He gave me my start.” Many artists have had run in with The law. Last Month Julio Voltio was arrested and released. In the past Don Omar and Most Recent Cheka have all had some kind of legal troubles. Right now there are problems with the justice system with Reggaeton artists. It gives Reggaeton a bad name. Fans feel sometimes it seems that the police are looking for something to pin on the artists. Tony haze states it just makes the genre look bad, and that all artists simply need to work hard to highlight the positive aspects of Reggaeton.
"Dale La Tripleta" from Shaka Black and Tony Haze's new album ”
No Hay Mas Na Que Hablar” has been played on the radio since February. Since the release of their video, “Dame un Beso,” Shaka Black and Tony Haze are gaining fans everywhere. “No Hay Mas Na Que Hablar” contains collaborations with artists like Andy Andy, Lennox, O. G. Black and Master Joe as well as Reggaeton veterans Hornyman and Pantyman.
When asked which Reggaeton artists he would like to work with Tony Haze replied, “When it comes to Reggaeton artists, maybe Daddy Yankee or Don Omar. I would like to talk to Don Omar again about a future collaboration. I remember I talked to him 10 years ago and he spoke briefly about a possible collaboration. We have been so busy I have not had to the chance to meet with him. Shaka Black and Tony Haze have worked with some of reggaetons finest this past year in the studio. With the anticipated success of “No Hay Mas Na Que Hablar,” there is no doubt that The duo will continue on a path to success.
